Benefits Of Reciting The Holy Quran During The Month Of Ramadan

by cyberdesignz on Aug.30, 2011, under Quran Recitation, Ramadan, Religion, online Quran

Muslims all over the world not only spend the month of Ramadan fasting from dawn to dusk for a month, but also they spend their time reciting the Holy Quran daily. Most of the Muslims attend nightly prayers which are called Taraweeh and they are held at the mosques. It is now possible to perform the Taraweeh at home. Quran Tutor is now also available online to guide a person about recitation of Quran. Each night a section of Holy Quran is recited which is normally one Surah. Our goal in the Taraweeh is to complete the recitation of Holy Quran. The Taraweeh is then offered after the last compulsory prayers of Isha. It is not necessary or compulsory to attend Taraweeh, or to end the recitation of whole Quran. But there are many benefits which are derived from it. This prayer is performed after the compulsion of dua prayers.

Reading and reciting Quran during Ramadan is one of the best deeds that can be performed, as Ramadan is a Holy month of Islam. Allah says:

“The Quran was revealed in the month of Ramadan, which was a source of guidance for all mankind and also a clear proof for guidance and provides criteria between right and wrong.”

Jibreel also used to come to the Prophet and recite the Quran in every night of Ramadan and used to study Quran with him.

Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) also said:

“The one who recites Quran beautifully will be among the company of noble and obedient angels. The one who recites it with stammering, stumbling and difficulty will have twice that reward.”

Before the month arrives, all Muslims begin making preparations for this month. They start worshipping more, setting aside time for Quran reading and all kinds of other activities that are a part and parcel of this month.

Such is the spirit of Ramadan among Muslims that they also send Ramadan gifts and eid gifts to their relatives, friends and loved ones. In the spirit of Ramadan, Muslims may send traditional and Islamic gifts to their loved ones such as Quran, Islamic books, almond filled dates, praying beads, prayer rug etc.

by admin on Aug.20, 2010, under Ramadan

RamadanWe Muslims are awarded with a great Month of Ramadan and this is the very month in which Allah (SWT) revealed The Holy Book of Muslims, Quran. So you can well imagine this is no ordinary month and then we are told about the greatness of this month clearly and have been told that there can be no month such as Ramadan and there can be no worship or prayer awarded more than this month.

Is this is the Month in which all the blessings, mercy and forgiveness is to be collected with greater rewards as there cannot be anything better.  We should also learn to open our fast with Ramadan Duas. This is the very month of Ramadan in which we are told that fasting has been made compulsory on every believer and there is a clear guidance to Muslims that who has an obligation to fast.

Well, there are often situations in modern day life where people come across those aspects of life in which they think that there is a reasonable excuse that can exempt them from fasting. People who are:

  • Sick
  • elderly
  • Travelling
  • Breast feeding
  • Pregnant women
  • Not with a stable mind

These are the people who are exempted from the fasting obligation and can ignore fasting but when it comes to make things easier for oneself people might leave fasting like to sit or prepare for exams and other sorts which is not correct as per your understanding and pray ALLAH (SWT) to help you in situations like that.

by admin on Aug.17, 2010, under Ramadan

(In the Name of Allah (SWT), Most Gracious, Most Merciful, all praise and thanks are due to Allah, Lord of the Realms and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger (SAWS) and upon all his family and companions)

This is the night in which Quran was sent down to the mankind from Allah (SWT) and this is why we are told that there is great importance of this night and there is nothing like this night and the blessings and opportunities offered in this night will not be ever enough to compensate this months’ blessings.

Further we are told that SHAB-E-QADR – THE MOST PRECIOUS AND VIRTUOUS NIGHT is to be allocated among the odd nights of the last phase in the month of fasting. It is requested from the readers that they take full advantage of this month by praying (offering nawafil), do repent (Istaghfar), recite Quran, pray for pardon, forgiveness, mercy, blessings and recite salawat (Darood Sharif & Salam) in abundance and make benediction (Dua) deep from your heart.

Hazrat Aisha Radiallah Anha stated that Rasool Allah peace be upon him said, “Look for Lailat-Ul-Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan.” (Bukhari)

Hazrat Aisha Radiallah Anha stated that as much Rasool Allah peace be upon him tried (Ibadat) in the last Ashra (ten days) of Ramadan, did not try in any of the Ashra.” (Muslim)

Hazrat Aisha Radiallah Anha stated that I asked Rasool Allah peace be upon him, “If I find Lailatul Qadar then what should I do? HE peace be upon him said, recite this Dua.”ALLAH HUMMA INNAKA A’FUVUN TOHIB BUL AFVA FA’AFU ANNI” (Tirmidhi)

Special DU’AA of Lailatul QADR (Shab-e-Qadr):

“ALLAH HUMMA INNAKA A’FUVUN TOHIB BUL AFVA FA’AFU ANNI” (Tirmidhi)

“O Allah! You are the Forgiver and You like forgiving so forgive me”
